What it means to be part of the NHS Test and Trace Labs
Sometimes the opportunity comes along to be a part of something really special. Working at one of our dedicated NHS Test & Trace laboratories across the UK, you will have the opportunity to be a part of history, helping us to recover from a national emergency. The world has never faced a pandemic quite like this in modern times and you will be part of the UK’s national COVID-19 testing.
Your work is critical to help us break chains of transmission. You will be part of a highly motivated and passionate group of people, who have come together from across the country, to work on one central cause. The world is relying on scientists to do what they do best and help us break chains of COVID-19 transmission, to enable people to return towards and maintain a more normal way of life.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment to produce automated science and if you’re joining either our Warwickshire or Lanarkshire labs, you’ll also be working in one of the largest diagnostic laboratories in the world.
"Testing samples in a global pandemic is crucial. It's what the whole country is talking about. It gives us a great sense of purpose but it's not always easy"
"One of the best things about working here is that I've been able to work of different parts of the process - doing different tasks in the process makes the shifts more varied and you get detailed understanding at each stage"
"Some of the samples we receive include messages from the person being tested. We love these - it reminds us why we are doing what we are doing"
