We're currently seeking Quality Manager based in and around Newport to work within a state of the art, high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UK's NHS Test and Trace programme.

As well as playing a vital role in supporting society's return to a more normal way of life by helping to break the chains of COVID-19 transmission, you will also gain invaluable experience and exposure to some of the country's most highly skilled individuals in the scientific community.

You will be joining a supportive environment and will be provided with training and accreditation for the role and processes you are required to undertake.

Your responsibilities:

As a Quality Manager you will be working closely with the site director and your primary responsibility will be to drive forward the lab accreditation. We require an experienced quality manager who has been heavily involved in quality processes and can take the lead in delivering UKAS accreditation. You will maintain needed regulatory compliance and certifications (ISO15189)

You will be part of global quality, regulatory and medical affairs team that drives a culture of quality and ensure the promotion of awareness of customer and regulatory requirements throughout the organization. You will ensure the Quality Management System complies with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.

As a Quality Manager you will ensure risks are properly managed and change effectiveness assessed, reviewing service process quality issues and work with service managers towards improving the quality of services throughout their life cycle.

You will organize management and process reviews as well as internal and supplier audits, provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards, whilst managing a team of 4 Quality Specialists

Your experience:

In order to be successful in the role of Quality Manager, you'll need the following education, experience and skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in life science, engineering, or other technical discipline

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in quality in clinical molecular biology or infectious disease testing labs with management experience
  • Expertise in risk management, root cause investigation, corrective/preventive action, and data analytics practices, tools and principles
  • Experience establishing operational objectives and work plans

Skills:

  • Positive, people-oriented, energetic attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to hit the ground running and confident in their ability to deliver
  • Working knowledge of implementing quality management system under ISO 15189 is a must, would consider ISO 17025
