Do you have lab research lab or laboratory experience, and are you seeking a new job in Berkshire? NHS Test and Trace are looking for a Laboratory Technician (Associate Practitioner) based in the Bracknell area, and the role comes with an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a Lab Technician, you will help support the Covid-19 recovery scheme, working within a high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of a Test and Trace programme.

In your first week in this Laboratory Technician / Associate Practitioner role, you can expect to:

  • Contribute to the provision of the clinical laboratory service as part of a team of Biomedical Scientists and support workers
  • Undertake sample reception, preparation, analysis, and recording of results in accordance with approved procedures, ensuring the safe disposal of specimens and waste
  • Work with and process Covid-19 testing samples, undertaking sample reception, preparation, analysis, and recording of results
  • Liaise with your line manager as part of a team delivering a high-quality protocol-based technical service under the supervision of scientific staff

To apply for this scientific research and laboratory technician role, you will need experience working in a relevant laboratory, with knowledge of the duties required to support senior lab staff. You will require relevant A-Levels, NVQ 4, or an IBMS Certificate of Achievement (Part 2) or degree in a science-based subject.
